INTRODUCTION: THE AIM OF THIS STUDY IS TO ASSESS THE STATUS OF STRATEGIC THINKING AMONG DIRECTORS OF PRIVATE sport clubs OF SHIRAZ CITY BASED ON GOLDMAN MODEL.METHODOLOGY: THE METHODOLOGY USED HERE IS DESCRIPTIVE-ANALYTIC AND DATA ARE COLLECTED THROUGH LIBRARY STUDIES AND SURVEY. THE TARGET POPULATION OF STUDY INCLUDED ALL PRIVATE sport clubs HAVING MORE THAN THREE sportS (A TOTAL OF 90 clubs) AND THE SAMPLING METHOD WAS CENSUS. WE USED A STANDARD STRATEGIC THINKING QUESTIONNAIRE, WHICH WAS BASED ON GOLDMAN MODEL (2005). AFTER CONFIRMING THE VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY OF THE QUESTIONNAIRE, IT WAS USED OVER THE STUDY POPULATION (P≤0.05). BASED ON RESULTS, THE CONCEPTUAL THINKING HAD THE LARGEST COMPONENT ASSOCIATED TO CRONBACH’S ALPHA (0.90). DESCRIPTIVE AND INFERENTIAL STATISTICS METHODS, INCLUDING SINGLE-SAMPLE T-TEST AND FRIEDMAN TEST, ARE USED.RESULTS: THE RESULTS SHOWED THE RELEVANCE OF FOUR COMPONENTS OF THE CONCEPTUAL THINKING AT THE SIGNIFICANCE LEVEL OF 95%. IN ADDITION, DIRECTORS OF PRIVATE sport clubs ARE BEFITTED OF THIS INDICATOR MORE THAN OTHER INDICATORS.DISCUSSION: IN OTHER WORDS, THEY HAVE A CREATIVE THINKING AND ARE HIGHLY RISK TAKER. ALSO ACCORDING TO THE RESULTS, IT SEEMS THAT LITTLE ATTENTION HAS BEEN GIVEN TO FORWARD-LOOKING COMPONENT.
